Nottawasaga Community Futures Development Corporation is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of local business people who have extensive knowledge and experience of the regional economy and who are representative of the population and our main economic sectors.
Susan Atkinson – President
Third generation Essa resident. An Insurance Broker for over 40 years. Owned and operated a business in Essa for over 25 years. Previous Deputy Mayor of Essa.
John Greer – Vice President
Resident of the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. An educator; active in many community events and organizations. Formerly served as a councillor in municipal politics.
Brandon Lapstra - Corporate Secretary
Born and raised in Innisfil. A Financial Planner with extensive banking experience, and an active volunteer with multiple community organizations.
Bob Marrs – Treasurer
Resident of New Tecumseth. Active volunteer in the community. Formerly served in municipal politics.
Jim Hunter - Director
Resident of Essa Township. Career fire fighter of 32 years, now retired. Active volunteer in the community, currently on the Parks and Rec committee and Angus Farmers Market. Previous member of the EDC.
Barbara Huson - Director
A resident of New Tecumseth. A small business owner and active volunteer for several community events and organizations. Formerly served in municipal politics.
Helen Mabee - Director
A resident of New Tecumseth for over 30 years, and a successful real estate broker. Actively involved with many community organizations.
Licinio Miguelo - Director
A communications professional currently working in public education in a senior level position, with previous experience in the municipal sector. A Bradford West Gwillimbury resident with a strong history of volunteering within the community, including a previous term with Nottawasaga Futures.
Vincent O'Brien - Director
Vincent is a longtime resident of Bradford and secondary educator for 31 years, now retired and holding Occasional Teacher status. He has been involved in coaching and volunteering in schools and in the community. Vincent also took on many leadership roles and publishers’ review positions during his career.
Lotte Struwing - Director
Lotte is a HR and Career Strategy Business owner and has been an Innisfil resident since 1993. She loves all that Simcoe County has to offer and is passionate about volunteering in the community.
Rachael Tracey - Director
Rachael is a resident of Essa Township; a Public Service Employee with the Department of National Defence. CIC Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and Commanding Officer of Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 53 Barrie. Rachael is the founder of Youth Beyond Enterprises and is passionate about youth and community development.
Board Recruitment Process:
Potential Board Members may be identified/nominated by the existing Board of Directors, or where unsolicited any resident of the South Simcoe community (Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Township of Essa, Town of Innisfil, and Town of New Tecumseth) may make an application for Board Membership. The Board of Directors will review all nominations and applications for consistency/fit with Board Composition policy.
Collectively, the Board should reflect the economic, geographic and social diversity of the South Simcoe region.
Nottawasaga Community Futures Development Corporation has been successfully delivering services to small business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as leveraging much needed capital into the local economy since 2003. Our business services include business coaching, small business training and workshops, micro and small business loans, business plan and implementation services, networking opportunities, and business information services.
