Nottawasaga Futures, Simcoe County District School Board, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, and the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre

Goals:

Provide support and experiences for youth in hands-on entrepreneurism; developing a business youth network and resources; and accessing community resources.

In-school Youth Entrepreneurship Status
Ongoing liaison with all South Simcoe high schools (public & private) and the Adult Learning Centre to offer support, tools, and resources for their entrepreneurship programs. In 2007, six presentations were provided with 127 participants on-site at the schools.

Out-of-school Youth Entrepreneurship Status
Four consecutive youth entrepreneurship programs (38 weeks) funded in part by Service Canada have been successfully implemented. (See Youth adVenture, Activity No. 6)

Support is provided to the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre in the marketing of the Province of Ontario’s programs for youth entrepreneurship.
