EDCO provides a forum to enhance the professional development of its members; advance economic development as a profession; and promote, assist and foster economic prosperity within municipalities in the province of Ontario.

Valerie Ryan represents The Economic Development Council of Ontario as one of 40 members of The Ontario Rural Council (TORC). The Ontario Rural Council members represent nonprofit rural organizations, private sector corporations, the public sector and individuals who bring specialized expertise and resources to the table. Senior members of organizations contribute their in-depth understanding of issues and communicate information back through their respective organizations. Members identify issues, and then collaborate to develop innovative solutions and strengthen rural voices.

BREI is an organization that promotes professional support and accreditation for business retention and expansion initiatives. Valerie Ryan is a member of the Marketing/Communications Committee.
