Developing partnerships with South Simcoe municipalities to provide additional community economic development activities to South Simcoe. |
Status: |
|
Continue to meet and liaise with local CAO’s, councils, and committees to strengthen and identify partnership opportunities such as:
- Support the activities of the municipal economic development committees.
- Provide information to potential new and existing businesses, such as up-to-date statistical and demographic information.
- Liaise with the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) to access OREA’s Commercial Property Database which will permit us to view and add/update municipality-owned commercial listings.
- Maintain the Ontario Investment Service Community Profile, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Municipal and Regional Community Profiles.
- Identify partnership opportunities (e.g., Business Retention & Expansion and Strategic Planning) to improve efficiencies and reduce duplication.
- Meet with municipal economic development committees to review their Strategic Plans, to identify actions in process and prioritize actions which require development;
- Actively participate in activities that promote the South Simcoe area (e.g., conference speaking engagements).
- Work with municipalities on special initiatives such as: Growth Management Studies; visioning exercises; Official Plan reviews; and marketing and branding exercises.
