Human Resource Pilot Project 


Funding:  

Restigouche CBDC (based in Northern New Brunswick) through Human Resources Development Canada, NT Temps Inc.

Partners:  

Restigouche CBDC (based in Northern New Brunswick) through Human Resources Development Canada, NT Temps Inc., two local businesses, 48 community organizations across Canada

Time Lines:  

2.5 years, starting June 2007

Objectives:

To increase the effectiveness of human resource (HR) management practices within small businesses, in order to increase productivity and competitiveness.

  • To explore barriers that prevent small businesses from implementing HR practices.
  • To increase awareness of small businesses regarding the benefits of HR planning.
  • To develop and test an effective, simplified, one-on-one approach encouraging small businesses to take basic steps towards HR planning.
  • To increase the effectiveness of human resource (HR) management practices within small businesses, inorder to increase productivity and competitiveness.
Status: Two local businesses are being recruited to participate in this program. Colleen Goulson, Project Coordinator has attended a one-week training session in New Brunswick.
