| Objectives: |

To increase the effectiveness of human resource (HR) management practices within small businesses, in order to increase productivity and competitiveness.
- To explore barriers that prevent small businesses from implementing HR practices.
- To increase awareness of small businesses regarding the benefits of HR planning.
- To develop and test an effective, simplified, one-on-one approach encouraging small businesses to take basic steps towards HR planning.
- To increase the effectiveness of human resource (HR) management practices within small businesses, inorder to increase productivity and competitiveness.
