Coordination of location filming in South Simcoe for the following municipalities: the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, Township of Essa, Town of Innisfil, and the Town of New Tecumseth. To liaise between local host communities, residents, film production companies and other stakeholders to ensure an incredibly positive and hassle free experience. |

The Film Production Policy and Procedures document was approved and adopted by all participating municipalities in April 2001. Information on filming in South Simcoe and an application form are accessible on-line at www.nottawasaga.com and is updated regularly. The information provided to production companies included location sites, permit requirements, and resource contacts.
2006 saw an unexpected increase in filming activity in South Simcoe with South Simcoe hosting six film crews to film three feature films, one commercial and two still photography shots resulting in area spending of more than $90,000.
To date, in 2007, two film permits have been issued for a short and feature film. Two commercials are anticipated in late summer and early fall. |
