Angus is located about 18 km west of Barrie in the heart of Simcoe County. Through the community runs the Nottawasaga, Pine and Mad Rivers. The banks of the Nottawasaga River comes alive in early September every year with the annual Essa Salmon Festival and Riverbank Derby.

Adjacent to Angus is CFB Borden. CFB Borden has a multipurpose, hard surfaced trail network, the Military Museum and plays host to great air shows and displays.
