Goal: To let outside communities know that the Town is a diverse community in which to live, work and conduct business.
Action Items: Market positive aspects of the Town; capitalize on existing cultural and tourism activities.
Promote a logo/slogan.
Promote the Town at tradeshows and in out-of-town newspapers; access outside communities with directories of available industry and available potential.
Identify that New Tecumseth is a collection of three distinct communities working as a larger community; have businesses advertise their locations as being in the Town of New Tecumseth (not Alliston, Beeton, and Tottenham); change road signs to identify New Tecumseth as opposed to identifying each village only; change the names on water towers to reflect New Tecumseth.
Create a tourism voice that will spread the word outside the area; produce a directory of all attractions and events; communicate visitor information.
Create attractive gateways inviting people to explore; include signboards with maps of the Town and clearly marked points of interest.
Access existing media to promote activities unique to the Town; invite radio/television stations to broadcast at local events. Develop pamphlet to support the Ag-Industry Task Force; create a Task Force web site.
Extend the steam train to Alliston so it covers all of New Tecumseth.
