A community strategic plan helps to remind us of the strengths that exist within the community, and to identify a "picture" or vision for its future.

Ideas expressed by residents, businesses, elected representatives, municipal staff, and community organizations describe the kind of town in which people want to live, work, and play.

They envision a future where Innisfil balances economic growth and job creation while protecting green spaces, Lake Simcoe, and agricultural land. This vision builds upon the Town's rural character, natural environment and heritage. Its high quality of life is supported by investment in public and community services and facilities.

On the following pages, a number of goals and action items have been outlined.

The Innisfil Economic Development Committee has expressed its commitment to build partnerships and put into action, the strategies identified here. Implementation of this plan is the responsibility of all those who care about their community!

Vision:
To control growth and determine Innisfil's own identity;

To respect Innisfil's natural environment;

To support existing businesses and job creation;

To build upon tourism potential;

To improve transportation links within and outside the area;

To develop an appropriate mix of housing;

To ensure access to recreational, cultural, educational and other services; and

To protect and enhance the rural character and heritage of Innisfil.
