Goals:
To promote universal access to recreational, cultural, and othercommunity services.
To support existing recreation programs for youth and to ensureaffordability.
To encourage an active arts and cultural community.
Action Items:
Conduct a recreation study that surveys the various sectors;increase awareness of what facilities and services are currentlyavailable; build a skate board park; build basketball courts withsign-out balls from the arena; rent gyms at no cost; betterutilization of Centennial Park.
Build affordable, recreational facilities reflecting thecommunity's needs; build more outdoor recreational facilities.
Expand and link the trails system across the region.
Create an arts recreation program; promote art classes that localartists can sign up to teach.
Survey existing groups and develop a directory of services;
Create an inventory of existing community services,organizations, and resources.
